Yeah, and when you start panning the map to find reason, it locks up.

Under preferences/route - what are you settings? What you have set will make a difference also in how it would route you.

    Thanks,
    Mark

If you are panning depending on the zoom level you have to wait till the screen catches up with your panning. If you keep scrolling accross and not allowing time to repaint the screen it will seem to lock up. If you just wait it will catch up with your scrolling.

    Thanks,
    mark

For the price I paid for it I don't have the patience for that. It's way too slow.

Thanks Mark, but someone dropped the ball on this one.

Anyone know how to turn off logging? Or at least whether or not you can? I can deal with the sluggishness, but the "are you on your 10 hour break?" pop-ups annoy me. I dont see anything about it in the quick start manual that came with it.

Who needs a GPS?. Road atlas works just as well and won't send down wrong routes or low overpasses. Yet to see a GPS with accurate size and weight restricted routes. Or various bridge laws. Newbie driver and his trainer ended up on a dead end residential street and struck the overpass. They didn't have a road atlas in trk. if they did and would of used it the route was restricted and also listed the low overpass. Believed everything gps told them. Trainer actually said GPS is always right it never gives false information?. I'll stick to my laminated atlas and calling for directions. ###### over priced speak and spells anyway. Buy a new atlas for almost 10 yrs and still not spend as much as one of those electronic toys!

This is not a Cray computer. It does have limited memory resources and if you have not turned the TND off/on for a day or two the memory resources are not as great. The same if you run Truck POI's and go between several screens. All this loads into memory.

    Thanks,
    mark

    preferences/general (device)/update driver status.

    automatic or manual.

If set to manual go to truck tools/timers and logs and make sure you have hours set in the 11/14/70 timers.

    Thanks,
    mark

How about all of the above? Verify with atlas, get local directions and use GPS to see stuff like lane changes well in advance. I've seen more than one guy blasting across two or three lanes at the last second to catch an exit .. Those guys arent always sporting a noobie logo on their door either. Had to let a UPS past me this morn on 94 in Chicago because his lane ended and i didnt feel like crashing. Lots of witnesses calling him all kinds of mofos.
