Or never hold corners so you get lost in the bush for hours driving down roads that haven't been travelled on in months.

Doesn't sound too bad but I'll keep everyone posted once I'm out there. I'm naturally a good driver although I have yet to drive a big rig. With good training and a good supervisor/ mentor, I think I'll be okay. I'd rather drive slower and not make any mistakes than to drive faster and screw up. Can't wait to start working

In a convoy it's required to hold every corner so the next guy behind you knows where to turn. Especially for someone like me who doesn't know those logging roads.

in most convoys the only person with directions is the leader. some guys can't even listen to em properly. simple things like follow the truck in front of you

Yup. Usually the supervisor is the leader and we all follow.

It would be easy to get lost, so easy to miss a turn

but with the low cost of the technology compared to the high cost of getting lost or stuck, or ending up on bridge that wasn't designed for a rig that the bigger companies don't use GPS displays and preload the routes.

i off road in jeeps and dirt bikes and it even if there is no map you can still follow a track.
