Sure wish that part about the avg 500 miles per day was true back when I was out of that terminal. I was as a company driver, and as soon as I went L/O, miles dropped like a rock. They tried and tell me, they are more geared for L/O that are team and mentor. Did not make any sense to me. How was going from a solo company driver to a L/O any different as far as miles. That was also confirmed by one of the bosses of the DM's there. There was just something about Columbus, and my DM, his whole board was nothing by L/O.

Good for you I'm glad you are happy . they were always good to me unfortunately sometimes life throws curves, but it had nothing to do with the company except to show how well they treated me

Trucking Popeye - What kind of equipment does Swift use for company drivers? Do they maintain their equipment well?
-
How was your training with the trainer done? Was the truck run as a team or a solo truck?

1) Freightliner Cascadia
2) International Prostar
3) Volvo 670
Yes they maintain it very well. The major thing to understand is that they are pieces of machinery and they will have issues from time to time. "Usually" they will send you to terminal for repairs. When they do - plan on being down for a day or two because of the number or trucks getting serviced. If you are lucky enough that you are too far from a terminal they will send you to an approved repair facility. Unless it is a weekend or a major issue, you can get out within a day.Tapeworm Thanks this. -
1st 50 hours behind the wheel I drove and the mentor sat in the passenger seat observing/advising.
Remaining 190 hours we drove as a team or "super-solo" - One drives / one rests. -
