I just got out of cdl school If I took a class B job and stayed, say a year, would that count as driving experience in getting a class A job?

Nope. Your Class A will be almost worthless with no class A experience. Plenty of good paying CDL-B jobs though.

no no no no no u will be dissapointed

Not only will it not count as experience but if you do decide to drive Class A you will have to go back through school again for a very expensive refresher course. You wasted a lot of money to end up driving Class B. You could have just went to the DMV, took the written test and got your Class B.

I have a class A with all but passenger/school bus endorsements. I have tractor trailer experience using the A but I have applied with companies that have B vehicles like the trash company and the cement company, however I have spoken with folks who work at both and they have class A vehicles like sand haulers, belly and end dumps. -
Hi All,
to quote my teacher " cdl-A is all about the trailer". -
Not 100% sure on that Wulfman. I believe all you have to do is pass the airbrakes part of the written exam. I could be wrong but I don't think you have to take an actual driving test to upgrade from a regular license to a Class B. If a Uhaul truck doesn't have airbrakes you can drive it without a Class B.
