I like elogs. Every company I worked for had their babies, brown nosers, pets, etc. that got the best runs and best pay seriously fudging on paper logs & 2 logbooks. Going to elogs stopped that & leveled the playing field for the rest of the drivers. I'm very hard headed and refuse to kiss up to anyone even if it would benefit me. Elogs, at least where I worked, turned the brown nosers into whiners.

It should be up to the company and not myself or any other entity including FMCSA or other Government run agency.

If the company I drive from decides to put them in then that is up to them. I will use my god given right and respectfully resign my position with them.

Having some good buddy pencil pusher in D.C. who probably has never sat day one in a truck deciding whats best for the entire industry with a blanket set of HOS rules for everyone is ridiculous..

We are all different and have different limits as to how far we can safely drive in a day..

If you don't know when its time to pull over and rest you shouldn't be driving 18 wheelers..

E logs for everyone. While at it, raise pay as well. Because I know they won't happen together, I bailed off the sinking ship and swam to shore. I'm so much happier now going home every night, weekends off with the family, occasional overtime, making $22/hr and getting paid for all work, whether turning a wrench or sitting at the table reading the paper waiting for a truck to arrive.

It took me leaving the driving side of the industry tobe truly happy. I just wish I did it sooner.

I think there should be no logs period! I am a pro I know when to sleep. Do four wheelers keep logs when they are going on vacation? Check everyone or noone.

I like elogs and use them. But I also love America an that its a free country. If you decide to do anything illegal in this industry you may get away with it for a long time or short time. One day it'll catch up to you in a bad way. Prison, loss of license, or somebody's life. I'm not just going to say hey you should do this bc I don't anyone telling me the same. And we're adults that can differentiate right and wrong. A lot of drivers use paper wisely and others don't. Will it be mandatory one day who knows but maybe one day the truck will drive and park itself and all ill have to do is check in with customers.
