The key is, "EASY DOES IT." And if your sliders are stuck, this can be hard to do, if not down right impossible. They actually do make bars that you can place across the holes on both sides. It helps if you tend to hit a bit too hard, but you still shouldn't "SLAM" it. Also, remember to pull that bar out when you are done, or you may be killing somebody with it, if it comes out when your on the road.

Some rubbing alcohol to put in with your windshield washer fluid in the winter . . . Some food in the truck for those 'just in case' times, and an extra pair of shoes in the truck!

four wheelers are stupid, generally. So when you are packing extra food and stuff to carry in winter, I used to pack an extra blanket for say somebody in shock at an accident scene, a blanket I dont want back. And think about getting stuck on a freeway for a day or two, somebody in a four wheeler might be diabetic, and has no provisions. Boost or similar drinks store well, and can potentially help somebody out.
Just a thought for you out there.

If you know about how far you have to back up, put a small 2X4 or wheel chock (Tractor Supply $10), that distance and just move your tractor to that position.

I buy cases of water at the gorcery store for $3-4 instead of paying $2 a bottle at the truckstops, you'll save a bunch of money real quick that way.

I put a small garbage can in my truck(, on my 379, it fits just perfect in the right hand closet), I can reach it from the driver's seat, keeps the truck neater.

For those who use tire shine, I buy Meguiar's Endurance Tire Gel, I also buy a nice sponge to apply it with and put it in a Zip lock freezer bag for storage. By applying the gel with a sponge, it lasts longer and you should get by 6 months or longer with one bottle.

good point about the water I carry two cases now because I ran out and spent way to much buying one bottle at a time. I have a trash can for a office desk. I put it half way under the passenger seat then lower the seat on top of it. This keeps it from moving around and it's right there to use.

My truck is always dirty from muddy and dusty lots. I have several shades of faded red paint thats chipping. Got two level 1s and passed them both on the side of the road in the last 6 months.

keep your truck in safe order and never rush no matter what. Never know what's going to happen today.

Some good to have items I keep in the truck:

    -Bungees, assorted sizes

    -Zip ties

    -Electrical tape

-Vise grips one large, one small

-Crescent wrench one large, one small

    -Screw drivers, phillips and standard

    -Good pair of dykes (Cutters)

-Magcharger flashlight (Rechargeable, extremely bright, doubles as a thumper for tires and bad guys)

-Decent air gauge and extra stem caps (Never forget each one missing are points against you)

    -Big bottle of windex

-Hi quality squeegee scrubber. Found one at wally world that has a pivoting head that locks in 3 different positions (Great for those upper angles high on the windshield) has a wider blade and a really fat scrubber that holds more cleaner than the bucket ones at the pumps) The handle also extends and collapses.
