lol it's not an insult, and it's not name-calling. It's a simple statement of fact. Unless he's not really 59.

Also. as I've said before. I'm not a user. I'm a professional, therefore, I cannot be a user and expect to remain in the industry.
I'm still new as I've just started last week, but I "get" the rules.

Me too. I like to smoke, but I see I can't get away with it. I realize the industry won't tolerate it because they'll get sued. I just now got my HairConfirm results, lightning fast, NEGATIVE, woo, whew. I guess I can sort of relax, even though there are 2 other types of tests, Quest and Psychemedics. I just didn't want a positive result to get reported to HireRight & end the career I haven't even started yet. Got my CDL today :)

I personally am a card carrying and voting member of the Libertarian Party, and I believe that Pot, and in fact all drugs should be legalized. Our prisons are filled with people doing time simply for having a bad habit.

That said, I don't feel there is any place in this industry for those using drugs... make a choice, I support your right to choose... I don't support you doing drugs and driving a big truck.

It's your choice but make it and live with it. You can't have both.

You can't change ignorance, don't even try. When people insist on remaining ignorant, it's their right.

Better watch it. You're gonna confuse 'em with facts. Your political position makes you a user in the eyes of the uneducated.

How accurate is the hair confirm test? What are the other 2 that you refer to? I would like to post as much legit info as possible. Thanks

The hair test is dead-on. The gas chromatography is simply one lab method of how the substance is analyzed.

The three are HairConfirm/aka Omega, Psychemedics, and Quest. I was reading on a pot-smoker's board that the cut-off values might vary, but I quit reading that after a while because they're washing their hair with lye and crazy weirdness that doesn't work. My understanding is that if you used one of the 5 classes of drugs they test for, that information is stored in the cells of your hair follicle as long as your hair is, 1/2 inch for every 30 days on your head (though the labs only certify the results for the past 90 days). Your body hair grows very slowly, so it could show drugs for a year. I was surprised I'm negative after 40 days, but I take a lot of vitamins and wear my hair fairly short, so maybe it actually grew faster?

I noticed that after I started school & would relax with a smoke at the end of the day, I was so anxious about the risk, that I didn't enjoy it at all. I didn't want to quit, but I was like you all are saying, it's driving or smoking, can't have it both ways.
