To wait multiple hours for a couple of tires is asinine, period. At least Schneider has express lanes at their OCs to get you out faster if the repair is simple.

While the inspection lane idea is a good one overall, this type of delay for something like two tires is unacceptable.

LTL is the way to go as long as you have a bid run. When it get slow you sit at home with no load and no cash flow. But for those who can make it through the drought. I'm sure Ltl can be a nice gig.

I had a lot of that myself, being up all day for repairs then driving all night, being awake 24 hours by the end of my shift. They did pay what they said they would pay, and its strait line not practical, but most companies are like that anyways. They are heartless in many ways.

wow you really missed the point here... Let me spell it out for you.. The point is there are worst companies to drive for than heartland. Once again if you don't like it here move on and stop complaining like a little 2 year old. In other words grow up.

The only thing you're spelling out is the same lame argument: There are companies that suck worse than Heartland.

    1) Thanks
    2) I already knew that
    3) That's not the point

The point is this: Heartland treats their drivers like dirt. That some companies treat their drivers worse is irrelevant.

As a driver you CAN find a better company to work for than Heartland. Getting paid .45/mile doesn't matter if you're always burning time in service bays and having your time burned by incompetent driver managers, both of which happen frequently.

Passed by the Heartland yard in Iowa City I guess that's the town. Heading toward Cedar Rapids and the the line of trucks was though the fuel Island and beyond. Do they not have 2 lanes you can get in to make it faster. It just seems with the 14 hour clock you would work with your drivers to keep them moving better. Never worked there, but just looking from afar. I do like those cpm, but like most companies who pay high per mile rate. They think you are their slave and won't go no where because of the pay cut. <<< Just my opinion. Again I have not worked there. With time management on the driver side. I'm sure those who like it there. Have been able to work through the short comings. Keep up the Good work and hope you all are profitable and safe.

We have drivers high on the extra board that make 85k but you are half right the very bottom guys will be lucky to hit 40k.

    1) how long did you work for heartland? Prob not very long since you show only 2 years of being a trucker.

    2) if you communicated with your fleet manager the way you do here I can see why he chased you off.

    3) your doing no different than I am with the lame argument that as you say heartland sucks.

    4) yup and your right there r better companies out there.

I don't know what everyone is saying the the inspection lines take so much from there day. The longest wait that I have had is in Atlanta terminal and I still did not lose my load. I have communicated to my fleet manager couple of times an asked if I could get fuel somewhere other than the term due to the time on the load. He got me opened for fuel somewhere else both times that I had that issue. The last thing the planners or fleet managers want to do is find another driver to take your load. So you have said your thing about heartland so bug off now.....

I think the cpm pay does matter since you'll get down time with any company you choose. Only time it does matter is if your not getting miles when all service and repairs are done, then 0 miles x .45 = 0
