I'm sitting in Memphis Tenn with a load that is to deliver in Carlisle Pa on Tuesday just as that storm hits that aread the hardest. Not sure yet how this will play out but it could be a very bumpy ride with only 3,400 pounds behind me.
Huge storm coming! Anyone one have any driving advice besides " dont do it."

Here is some good advice given by countyboy:

Be careful around NYC. There may be a strong storm surge off the ocean and NYC may end up underwater. Been hearing about it on tv all day today. Now, its even turning into a situation similar to a bad B movie. The mayor of NYC, Bloomburg, is refusing to evacuate the populace near the sea. The Weather Channel is agog over this.

If you have to leave sunday night, see how strong the storm is coming on. If it is going to be a dusey tell them you might as well stay at home. You can either sit at home and watch the storm or be stuck in some truck stop or wherever and watch it. It could be a few days clean up if it unleashes hell ... where would you rather be?

Ill be in Eden prolly late Monday morning. I should be heavy so I'm not too worried about wind but once I get empty I hope I don't have too many issues. I worry about getting blown over lol

I think I'll complete my 34 by Sunday morning so will run the truck over to the local fuel stop and top off before departure early Monday for parts north of PA (where I am now).
Don't know what's in store with the three fronts coming from all directions but I do know this... my truck can't swim.
Worst case scenario will be that I can't depart because of the arrival of the storm... I'm snug and secure at my above waterline residence and, if this storm shows any evidence of being dangerous... I'm not going to join all the stupids that will, because a dumb dispatcher said so, go out and endanger their lives.
I spent too many years pulling stupid people out of danger to become one of them.Cranky Yankee, 1nonly, Truckinchic and 2 others Thank this. -
If the wind is over 60mph, the only place you'll be going is flat on your side.

Where I'm supposed to deliver on the Delmarva peninsula on Monday, the NHC is only predicting a maximum 2 foot surge above normal.Vampire and mamamullins Thank this. -
Ruthless Thanks this.

I am guessing my 10am Monday delivery to Hunt's Point may not come off as planned... First stop is near Harrisburg at 5 am, guess I may just be staying right there after delivery.
