Go ahead give it to me straight. I'm a big girl I can take it.

Question #2: Would you recommend going out and getting driving experience before getting into the business or jumping right in?
    Thanks.

NO. I would like to think that in this day and age everyone is treated equal, but sadly that is not the case.

i would also like to think that you have experience and know what your doing.

no one cares that your a big girl. (your words)

all we care about is safety. and i've seen a couple of cars sitting on the road a time or two.

You need to do the same investigation and research before "jumping right in" to ANY new business...period!

Carhauling is the place for anyone, of any race or gender, who wants and will do a good job. I'd be doing it, but I don't really think I'd like driving someone elses valuable cars up and down off the truck. I think securing them, once I learned how to do it properly wouldn't be the hard part for me. My fear of damaging a $50,000 vehicle would be the hardest thing for me.

it takes a special person to haul cars, just like some people fit the flat beds, some refers and some dry freight. Jump in and give her a try. Nothing ventured, nothing gained!

Thank you all so much. I have seen how physically demanding the work is.

And oi! LOL Big enough to get the job done.
Guess I should've said I have my big girl pants on and you won't hurt my feelings.

    ETA:
I am a car nut. I have been since my mom tore down a hemi and dropped it in her Studie. My daughter and I spent summers at Havana. On her 16th birthday I bought myself a hot rod. I rebuilt a car to get over the death of a loved one. I met him under the hood of his truck. The only thing cooler than cars is trucks (and a few tractors.) I have loved them all, but I have never driven a car hauler. Car haulers have always amazed me. I ain't getting no younger though and I wasn't sure if a middle age lady had the muscle to do it.

As far as safety goes, I couldn't agree more. I quit going fast when I had kids. (A long time ago.) If there's one thing they teach you driving a school bus, it is to be safe above all else. So far so good with the safety record. Hopefully it will stay that way.

Anyone can do car hauling but you need some good training. I spent a week in a classroom for half a day and the other half driving cars on and off the truck. And then another two weeks riding with another driver before I was cut loose. I will admit I was stressed at the beginning about damaging cars and how to put everything on the truck without being overheight but everything came with time. Now I just look at my paper work and build loads pretty quickly now and I've been doing it since march. If you want in get a good company that will train and understand damages will happen.
