ok i think i am good, i got all the personal cleaning supplies, clothing, pillow, blanket and fitted sheet, mini mag lite, school like supplies. NOW i am a female, what type of wallet should i bring, i know this sounds like a such a girl question but i am dead serious, cuz ya know, a wallet holds ur license, ur credit/debit, ur social security, i got the typical lady wallet, the long one, should i get one that i can fit into my pocket? i leave in one week and need to make sure i got everything down. and what are the best shoes to bring. i got shower flip flops, regular flip flops and planning tomorrow to pick up a pair of sneakers and a duffel, i am having trouble with finding a duffel, any ideas? what is the best size to bring? i might do a carry on bag on the bus with a small duffel holding bedding and some other items. hope to hear back from someone. thanks all!

Bring enough cash or credit to cover a ride home..

Not being facetious but there is reason people say the CR ENGLAND is actually an acronym for Constant Recruitment Every New Grad Lasts About Ninety Days.

Just make sure you can get home from anywhere in the country just to be safe.

Cmon' guys be nice to the poor girl!

Though I am still finding it strange your husband is an experienced driver and you are going to England.

Have you considered Central Refrigerated? They are right next door to England in Salt Lake. I think your chances of success would be exponentially greater there. What were your reasons or deductions in choosing England?

Sounds like you are pretty well packed. Just don't over pack because you will have to be with a trainer for some period of time. Anything you need or forget can easily be picked up on the road. There is a Walmart almost across the street from England in SLC in case you forget anything. I personally, when packing light, bring a back pack and an x-large duffel bag. My clothes and such I lay flat in the duffel bag with my shower bag and such then I roll up my bed roll like a burrito complete with sheets, three blankets and pillow and I put it right on top of my clothes in my duffel bag. This makes it easy to tote around and also keeps my clothes pressed flat. I keep everything I need to survive in my back pack and when I'm driving it rides next to me like a good ol' flight bag!

Once you get out of training and are issued your own truck you can fill it with whatever you need. Whatever you do stay away from leasing at England. They are really trying to move toward an all lease company like JCT. Also be weary of your options. If you don't want to lease they often have you repo trucks. This can be a very disgusting, frustrating gig!

Well, as to the wallet, I wouldnt worry about it, I mean you don't want to sit on it when driving, I leave mine in my nondescript bag, that I hang off of the back of the drivers seat. I can reach it without getting out of the seat and I dont want to sit on it or leave it in a place where people might want to break Into the truck (like a purse on the passenger seat for example, could be tempting to thieves regardless if the wallet is in there or not).

I brought a sleeping bag, a four days worth of clothes, my personal care items, and febreeze, with the hotels England likes to put you in that last item might not be so bad. They have a policy where they will never force you to stay in a hotel or truck with the other gender, they may ask you to, but you are always in your rights by company policy to say no.

Good luck, I wouldn't recommend England, it FWIW it worked for me.

i sit on my wallet. you don't need your life history like you carry in your purse.

just your debit, license, social card, whatever card you use for cash purchases.

AND DON'T FORGET YOUR BIRTH CERTIFICATE. and i'm guessing a utility bill. the laws have changed so i'm not sure how all that works with you newbies now.

BRING A COAT. warm clothes. it's getting chilly in salt lake. pack some water reesistant boots if you can find some. and gloves also. it snows out here in the mountains, you may get to chain up.

    Chompi,
i have tried other companies that are more local, i tried Millis, terminal just few miles from house, they said "sorry but we are not looking for female drivers at the moment" i thought that was pretty messed up, i chose England because it is the shortest contract i have found and a big company would look good on my resume. does Central offer schooling? i really like how you pack, i will try it, i am having some trouble finding a big duffel bag, no luck at walmart, went to target they have one with wheels on one end but it isnt very deep. i am 100% sure i will not lease. i am going to just do the 6 months and get out, my husbands work Kennesaw Transport gave me a pre-hire but i got to get my cdl and a little experience on me. they are very picky about who they hire, used to be you had to have 5 years experience, now its 3, but if you have a spouse who drives for them then all you need is cdl and couple months experience and they will train you further. i am only doing this because my mom is ill and i want to be there for her financially, buy a house and move her and my sister in, its a big long story and also my husbans is a big influence. i have spent a year otr with him and i love it.
