    UH HUH!

The scale houses won't bother trying to figure out how to check the history logs....every driver i have talked to with e-logs has said the same thing, they just wave em by.

Yeah, that true enough. While I stated that carriers having an easier time of dealing with logs, it makes no sense to saddle everyone with them. This is an area where probable cause needs to be implemented.... if someone has a proven track record of screwing up logs, then there would be a case to force implementation of elogs on that individual. In other words, do not put the cart before the horse. Elogs should be an option if one wants to use them, or put upon someone who can't seem to keep their act together, but not on everyone herding a truck down the road. But, the way they are wanting to go about things does fit well in the standard modus operandi of government. Saturate people with a massive bombardment of regulations and worry about it later. I realize carpet bombing was a viable tactic in WWII, but... NEWS FLASH, Uncle Sam.... the war is over.

    Werner Enterprises E-log running company

Unsafe Driving 51.2%(E-logs [pushing the drivers)? Maybe

    Fatigued Driving (Hours-of-Service) 13.4% (even with E-logs)?

These last three posts are just to show that E-logs might help on logbook violations but they cause other areas to decline. The industry will not get rid of the old trucks so alot won't even be able to run E-logs. Just make them optional and move on to something else. I would rather be driving a little over on my paper book than to be UNSAFE and possibly kill someone. Just my thinkin tho.

All rookie driver companies too. You get what you pay for. Those are sure some high controlled substance and alcohol numbers. That's why all the young ones ask about hair test on here! :)
