While I agree and think it sucks, why worry about what someone else is making? If what their offering works for you fine, if not find something else.

It's about time somebody placed the blame where it belongs. These brokers are killing industry i love being apart of. Their just GREEDY as H*LL. The drivers take all of the risk, while brokers sit behind their desk suckin up a large chunk OUR pay.

Then park the truck and become a broker. Don't be upset because they make money while sitting at home, while you're out working on the road. You don't have to deal with brokers, so don't deal with them.

I think you got it wrong. Truck drivers and companies are "killing" this industry because they are the ones accepting freight for sub-standard pay, for fuel money so they can get home.

I agree, if these drivers need to be home that bad, they should get a local gig. OTR isn't fit for just anyone these days. It takes some time on the road and getting in good with brokers who you like to be able to set-up lanes and get home with good rates. Most guys ONLY shop public load boards and wonder why they get offered loads for $1.25 mile..... because SOMEONE will take it to get home, and the brokers know it. I can't blame a broker for keeping $500-$2,500 of a rate if someone will take it. I'd do the same thing, just like you'd take a load for $5 mile if it was offered to you. The broker gets a load and knows he is going to make some good cash on the deal and he has someone in mind for the load the second he gets it from the customer.
