I am, even though the recommended interval is 25,000 miles.
I set the reminder for 12,000 and see what my schedule looks like to get into one of my preferred shops before it gets to 15,000. It gets greased at the same time.
I seriously considered a by pass system but figured the ROI was a year out do decided against it.
Is anybody still doing a 10-15K oil change?

I always recommend 12k on trucks. Mostly because that is the only time a driver gets it greased or looked at and usually they go over 12k sometimes well beyond. These are trucks with regular filters and oil. Older units 90-04 as well.

An oil change is the cheapest overhaul you will not need.
I did engine all my life and the shortened oil cycles the engines last longer, the longer the oil change cycle the shorter the cycle till it is worn out.
An older engine when you change the oil will not, use any oil, after a time it starts to use oil, that you want as the maximum 1/2 life of the oil.
I have seen guys get a lot of life from a tired engine doing that.
Installing a spinner filter is an exceptionally good idea, it has to be installed properly, and I also am a firm believer in grease the front end especially, in between oil changes.
The driver does a pre trip and should go under it what is the problem, if he carries a rag and a grease gun.
Things like that cut down n break downs and finding a problem early cuts down on major problems.aiwiron, puncher, scottied67 and 1 other person Thank this. -
yes 10-12,000 depending on conditions.Remember the people recomending the 25,000 interval are the same people that are going to sell you the parts to rebuild it...I'm just sayin'

I did the 10k oil change and never had a issue, Oil analysis also.
All the used oil was used at home in the shop heater, never lost a penny from frequent oil changes.

I have been doing 10k oil changes and grease the truck every 5k for over 16 years as a O/O

I have 998000 on my C15, the oil is changed every 12000 miles. The engine has never been opened up and the oil samples show very slight bearing wear. I should get many more miles before having to do an in frame. I have always believed that frequent oil changes are cheap insurance.

I agree with what John P and the others said, I do mine at 12,000. I see your using shops to do the services, and there's nothing wrong with that but I would buy a grease gun and crawl under there every week or two and grease and take a look at everything. I grease mine once a week, but sometimes if I only run 1,000 or so miles in a week I might go two weeks, and once in awhile I get an outside shop to grease it because they might find something I didn't.

I always recommend to people that they need to grease it between services but no one does. Grease job is a good time to look around and find things. When I had a few trucks on the road I pulled them I the shop every week, and every week I could usually find something. Might be a light or a hose rubbing, but it would save me later.
