The difference is you have the axles to stop it, that's what everyone seems to be forgetting. Along with the stability of other axles. Now don't get me wrong I'm not saying running that fast with that kind of weight is the best thing in the world to do either.

I was up at the 77/81 split in Virginia at the flying hook last night and a western express driver nearly killed me he drove through the fuel island so fast, but lord knows i passed all of those trucks going up fancy gap with 47k of I beams on the deck...

It just BLOWS my mind that people drive so quickly in the truck stops, some of YOU do it, so if your one of "those guys" why don't you explain to us all what you get from flying like a mad man through the truck stop, does that make you look tough? your big hammer gets you up to 45 mph in the lot!

You have to build up the momentum, that way you don't have to slow down when you run over people :p

I don't bother with the accelerator, even in 5th gear I only go about 6mph idling. I hear trucks pedal to the floor, engine fan roaring though, not sure why they need to be so loud and obnoxious, or fast for that matter.

I have an 18 speed and 3.55 rears, small rubber, I put my truck in 2nd gear and let the truck pull itself through the lot, If i'm taking the time to get off the highway to a truck stop, then there's no reason for me to rush through the lot and hit someone or cause an accident, not to mention alot of these truck stop parking lots have pot holes that could swallow a VW beetle so it saves wear and tear on my truck....

I get a good laugh when i'm crawling through the lot and there's someone right on my ICC bumper trying to push me out of the way, then you take the on ramp and never see them again they are so far behind you...

If you're passing ME on the right, then you're breaking the law by speeding. Thanks.

And you're breaking the law in many states by riding in the left lane...

Cracks me up too when I'm cruising out of the truck stops with a big company freight hauler on my tail end all the way to the on ramp. I'm always about 80k and love to sift my big CAT 550 around 1500-1600 rpm which makes me a very slow get up and go (I love the pulling power of my big CAT). In the mean time, Billy Bob Jr in his big company spec rig is doing all he can to get out in that hammer lane to get around me. When he does get around me and their governor kicks in at 64-68 MPH, I just end up blowing right past them anyway (same here, my rig isn't governed).
