So you're saying that if I don't agree with you, I must therefore have my head up my butt. Nice. That's the way to win votes. Let me know how it works out for you.

Oh please. Put the musket down Jethro, no one trying to deny your rights of free speech. Go read the first amendment. Pay particular attention to the first line of it. The part that says Congress shall make no law... I ain't Congress and I don't make laws. So I couldn't step on your first amendment rights even if I wanted to. You can speak all you like. But I don't have to agree with you and I don't have to shut up about it if I don't agree with you.

    o, please dont flatter yourself

i am not saying you are congress, i am saying stop whining about people trying to get thru their point because we are only truck drivers and this is only the internet

neither one of those points are valid because we are still humans and we still have valid points regarding this EOBR nonsense

no one is telling you to shut up, but you should stop telling people that their venue of discussion is not valid (ie, telling others to shut up)

we can go to congress all day, that wont help unless you get a mob of truckers, and that aint looking too promising with the recent crowd

and yes, i have my musket ready, do you?

I salute the member who started the petition as I could throw out sayings like 'People who don't stand up for something...Will sit down for anything' but nope..nope I'm not going too. :) It just makes sense to me to do SOMETHING other than ##### about it and do NOTHING.

Somehow a circa 1973 poster survived all these years in my Dad's attic at home. It depicts a mouse sitting on a hill at dusk all alone with a eagle bearing down on it. The mouse of course knows it is ######, but is showing the eagle his middle finger before being destroyed. At the bottom of the poster is the word defiance and Webster dictionary's explanation of it. One of my kids found it in the attic a couple years ago and asked me if I wanted it..Ya think.? :)

    Anyway..You all have a Great T-Day,huh? :)

I find it intersting that someone who has a NO TRUCKS sign in his/her avatar, doesn't say if they're a professional driver or not is on here arguing FOR EOBRs and against those who are standing up against them.

i will go one step further, if you signed onto a company and submitted to EOBRs, you have added one more nail into the coffin of freedom and liberty for truck drivers

dramatic? you may say, but reality is that we are not criminals out here, we are hard working folk who are trying to survive against the DOT, the ATA and a host of other entities that want to hogtie us as we do our job

yes, there are bad drivers out here, to criminalize all of us based upon the actions of a few is unfair, tyrannical and immoral, and drivers who submit to it, are helping destroy this industry as we know it

if you want to use computers to do your logs, thats one thing
if your company wants to monitor its drivers because its drivers are getting too many OOS violations, that too is understandable

but to FORCE all trucks to do it is just plain wrong

and thats just for Elogs, EOBRs, cams inside the truck, sleep monitors, food monitors, smoke monitors, are up and coming

It's not just truckin', folks. This is a societal problem and will continue to grow because technology allows it. This garbage will be inflicted upon every business and industry and profession. Perfection will be demanded...ultra-micro-management in pursuit of absolute maximum "efficiency" will reign.

We are going to "tech" ourselves out of existence as we now know it. We're already on the way.

I didn't say it wasn't valid. I said it was pointless, as in ineffective. You're moaning about something you don't like on the internet. That isn't how movements are started. It just gets those who agree with you to join in a giant sing-a-long of for he's a jolly good fellow and gives those who disagree with you the chance to annoy you. But otherwise nothing much ever comes of it.

And in case you haven't figured it out yet, I'm not for EOBR's or against them. I'm as neutral as Switzerland. If I'm doing anything, I'm doing you a favor by pointing out that if you really, honestly want to create a movement strong enough to stop EOBR's becoming mandatory, what you're doing now ain't gonna git it. I'm not trying to discourage you from putting your energy into your cause. I'm saying if you're going to put your energy into it, find a more effective way to do it or don't bother to do it at all. Making me out to be the enemy is just wasting your time.
