They probably don't do trip pak or transflo because they are paid on Hub miles. So I guess they have to verify your mileage when you come into the yard.

Left GP Monday afternoon bound for Sam's DC in North Canton,OH for a 1315 delivery on Wednesday. Was planning on a layover there till Friday because my load delivered so late.

Got a call from backhaul dispatch Tuesday about 1230 with load info to pick up Wednesday, but was told the broker had no pick up appointment time set yet and that the load needed to be in Houston on Friday at 0230. I was already thinking this is not going to happen, but said ok I'd call broker.

After hanging up and doing some routing; p/u in Bluffton,IN (230 mile deadhead) going to Houston (1120 loaded miles) in 35hrs with no time alotted to load or take two 10hr breaks, as I would need one once I arrived at shipper; I knew for certain I could not move the load legally and be on time for delivery. I called backhaul dispatch to let them know I could not make on time delivery and was told the load could deliver Monday. I said ok I'll call the broker. But before I could do so (I was waiting for the next rest area to appear) backhaul sent a Qcomm message saying the broker said load had to be in Houston by 0230 Friday and they would find me something else. No problem.

I got no phone call from backhaul till right at 1700 Wednesday telling me they still had not found me a load. Now I'm a little worried as I don't think they will find anything on Friday they could not have found on Wednesday, which has me thinking I may be here till Monday. I pray not!

Anyways, A very Happy Thanksgiving to all and my the peace of the Lord rest in your hearts and homes.

Apparentlly you missed the previuos answer to a similar concern. Any driver can request a "Personal Advance" against the miles he/she has run if he/she can't get paperwork turned in every week. The limit for said advance is $1000.

Well, I didn't mean for it to sound bad because it really isn't. You can have money put on your card anytime you need it with really no questions asked. Just send a Qualcomm Message or call and they'll put a $1000 on there like a snap of the finger. I just wanted to Post those numbers because I'm really happy with how things are going in that department. No worries...she wouldn't go without money. You give her a stack of ComChecks and load your card and it's all good. They know what you're running so it isn't a problem at all. I had all the same concerns I see you Post on here about Poly. I truly am more than happy with my decision to come to work for them. I'm running kick butt miles and getting very well treated like a responsible adult. Making more money than ever at my other driving jobs and even getting through home more often. I know without a doubt it's the best driving position I've taken. I'm as down to earth and real as any driver you'll find here. I enjoy sharing information on here because I'm proud of the decision I made and I got a lot of my information from here. I have no vested interest in your decision to work here or not. I wish they would give you the call so you could just find out for yourself. I know I probably wouldn't have taken the steps necessary to come here if it weren't from this Forum so I want to share my success and just maybe it helps other people like me. I'm not special and I know first hand what it's like to mill over a driving job out here. It's good for me and many I've met like me. I'll be glad to share any information I can about questions you may have. I'm new as you know yet I have a lot more knowledge about a lot of things now. Sure there is much more to learn. Hope this Post helps clear up some things for you. Take Care out there! :)

Just to add to this Post, you can get more in advance all together because I did. I took one advance for Tolls for $200 and then did two of the $75 advances. Got a little worried since I was out a little longer than normal so took a personal of $1000. So as you can see in my example here you can get what you need. I was out a little longer without getting through a place to turn in than average. It wasn't a big deal on the money and I was running big loads and getting good miles. Anyways, think that covers it. Sorry if I confused anyone.

Doing a load like that, could. Cost you your job . Plus very unsafe ,I wouldn't think twice about having passed that one up

Yep, the outlaw days are gone. Not worth possible litigation or jail time if I was to have a fatal accident, my fault or not.
