Most of our trucks are 2009 and newer. Many of the '09s have been rotated out to be sold to our affiliate companies.
Trucks that are 2011 or newer are manual transmissions. The auto's are being phased out. We still have some in the fleet but their days are numbered because the warranty periods are coming to an end.
Solo drivers will get either Cascadias, 387/ 388 Petes, or Prostars. It will depend on availability at the time you are hired.
Because you have experience, my guess would be you'd end up with a condo, but again, it all depends on what's available.
USX likes to keep their trucks in good shape. It makes sense because a poorly maintained truck is just asking for trouble on the road and at scale houses. Which of our shops do the best work? I heard Austell, GA is very good. Tunnel Hill is not bad either.
If you have a problem with your truck, they'll fix it. Especially anything DOT related. "B" PMs every 35k.
We keep trucks until the warranty is up (around 500K) and then they get sold off to our contractor companies or to the drivers that are interested.
USX is very safety minded. They don't want DOT issues and want the best CSA score they can get.
Whew.......that help?
