1+ million signatures on a petition may get someone to nervously stand up and take notice. It's tantamount to saying "hey, there are enough of us here that we could make a big political difference were we to really start pushing the issue"

Poorly worded or not, an angry lynch mob is just that. And someone in government might have the good sense to keep the lynch mob from becoming angrier. Don't you think?

All I can say is "Keep Dreaming".

There will be EOBR's in the trucks within 2 years.

That you sit back and tell me to 'keep dreaming' is proof that your statement is true. It's drivers like YOU with passive attitudes that allow these regulations to be enacted.

I own my truck. I do not WANT an EOBR.

    I am not Passive.

I am just a realistic person.

I saw this coming in 2005.

When I clicked on this thread two days ago there were 17 signatures. As of right now, there are 21. If you're hoping for 1 million I think you're going to end up disappointed.

:biggrin_25510: I think he is a dispatcher or something that is not working on the side of the drivers. Makes you wonder since he won't say what he does........:biggrin_25515: Gremlin; maybe I shouldn't say this but it sure seems like you are NOT on the side of the driver. Everything it seems that we are against; you seem to be for. Why?????

Well, if you think about it, ... I can imagine it would be pretty hard to fall asleep at the wheel in a truck that bounces your head off the ceiling every time you run over a little crack in the pavement. :biggrin_2559:

By the avatar, I'm guessing he/she is employed by P.A.T.T.
    Maybe it's Buford T Justice.

We will both be on this forum in two years and I bet the pink slip to my trucks that EOBRS will not be mandated upon every interstate commerce truck. There is no way the feds can force owner ops to spend money on an un-needed item to invade our trucks and force us to have a monthly fee to use them too. The feds will have to fork the bill to install and service them and I don't see them spending "their" money on million of trucks.

There are more and more of them being put on the company trucks.
Even more than I thought had them.

The recent July activity on this is where I find the most interesting. It seems that they left it in the bill, and had everything there except the funding.

I really hope you are right.

I understand company trucks going to them as it makes it easier for the safety department to keep up on logs and helps alot with drivers that don't know how to use a pen and paper. It also helps when you buy in bulk and get large discounts and the government gives the large company's alot of breaks to help them become even bigger. But now for the small guys since EOBRs don't help in any way shape or form they can not be mandated and put on the owner ops or any company that doesn't want them unless they pay all expences involved. Like I said the government doesn't have the money nor would spend the money to do this. There would be so many lawsuits shutting this mandate down if they try to force it.
