I just sent an email to the recruiter with a link to another page discussing the sensors and asked him to comment on it. I am curious to see his response. I am considering two other companies whose trucks have APUs so unless Schneider can guarantee in writing that I get one they are out of the running.

Wrong again, they ARE NOT APU'S!!!!!!!!

For the last time, an APU is an Auxiliary Power Unit.... An auxiliary unit that supplies power to the truck separate from the trucks main power source.

The thermoking tripac uses extra batteries that store electricity created by the alternator that is ran off of the main power source of the truck (the engine)...... Therefore, the thermoking is simply a battery operated a/c system that requires a whole bunch of extra batteries in order to operate for a decent amount time.

For the last time, it is NOT an apu. It does not create its own power, it simply stores extra power to operate.

And IMHO, the amount of extra batteries required to have it operate for an extended period of time adds a heck of a lot of weight for how little it has to offer. Much more efficient to have an actual apu.

My bunk heater crapped out on me last night. Second time it's broken in 3 weeks. Not an old truck at all. Really starting to tick me off. I'm not cool with waking up to a 38 degree bunk.

No, I'm just trying to make it clear that schneider doesn't have any trucks equipped with apu's. That way drivers won't be signing up with schneider expecting to get a truck with an apu when we don't any......

    Just stating the facts.
