And I'm not aware of any of those being equipped with apu's.

I just got mine over the holiday. The note they gave me says trucks like mine that has the AC on it, the shut off is at 90 degrees. Not 70.... Nice.

The response I got from the recruiter: ...all of the trucks will eventually have the Sensors unless they are trucks due to be turned in soon….I am not sure of the exact temperature limitations but we don’t hear about any complaints here in the office. I do know ALL of the trucks have at minimum the wabasto bunk heaters for winter, and by the time summer hits the should have APU or the ability to run AC with minium affect on idling.

NINETY DEGREES?!?!? My crap would be out of that truck so fast it would leave vapors. Holy excrement....I'm sorry, but even with an auxiliary AC unit, 90 is unacceptable. These dang things are known to fail....unacceptable under any circumstance.

Good luck. Most of those auxiliary AC units (NOT APUs in the traditional sense) are not sufficient during the hottest days of summer. Unless you lock yourself in your bunk with the curtains closed....maybe.

Gawd...the more I read about this, the angrier I get....

On our dedicated account, we have about 6 or 7 trucks that have these ACs. Mine is the only one that works.

I'm not sure why you didn't go get a hotel room when it happened. Especially when you are at the Indy OC and there's 2 hotels within walking distance.

That guy in the shop who told you to bundle up and enjoy the cold night is an ###.

Anytime the truck us unsafe to sleep in you can get a hotel and it should be reimbursed.
