Look, people just need to realize that SNI isn't doing this just to save a few dollars on fuel costs. SNI is obviously getting major kickbacks from the federal government to install these darn sensors as part of the green crap that Obama and Gore are pushing on everyone. SNI is too big for its own panties now and they are milking so much money from the government it isn't funny. Think of all the money they are getting for people that are on the per diem pay scale, sensors, and all the federal money they get for hiring drivers with huge bonus and school reimbursments incentives. Heck, prob a good deal of those drivers never see that bonus or school reimbursments so that is just more money in the pockets of people that don't know what it is really like out here anymore. Sorry about the rant but this crap is getting old and getting old very quickly

Thats nice if I only had money left to take for an advance. Heck, I'm robbing peter to pay paul now due to "slow freight" and less than 1500 miles a week. It aggrivates the crap out of me when I bust my butt making sure I am on time for my pick up and deliveries, save loads for other drivers caus they can't make on time deliveries yet I'm the one getting loads that I can't deliver for 2 days even though I am there the day before. There are times that I am getting 2-3, 34 resets in a 12 day period due to rather crappy load planning on someones part.

 

Sorry for the rant. I'm just getting frustrated with lazy, selfish drivers that refuse to do their job. I have picked up 4 trailers in the last 2 weeks that were not fit to be on the road due to either bad tires, bad brakes or a combination of both. Come on people, how hard is it to walk around a trailer and bend over for a few seconds to check the tires and brakes, and if something is wrong, report it???? I'm sure i'm not the only one seeing this but I can tell you one thing, after picking a trailer today that was, according to the dvir message, last used by the same person as previous 2 trailers and reported no problems, I finally called in and reported the nonsense. I told my DBL assistant that if I find another pre loaded trailer like this, I will flat out refuse to take it.

 

I get a lot of bad lights on trailers. In one week I replaced three turn signal lights on trailers that were reported good. I'm sure it happens that its fine when you drop it then don't work for the next guy once and a while but not this much. The last one I was out of lights and thank god for a nice helpful SNI driver gave me one. The guy at the service desk the next day looked at me like I was crazy when I asked him for five spare turn signal lights LOL I'm on one of those loads thats holding me back was suppose to come out sunday but due to appt window I left the house today and still need to take a 14hr break tomorrow before I deliver this load. Beside this one though miles have been good for me.

 

I don't make a big deal about light issues on trailers caus I know those can quit at the drop of a hat. Its the tires and brakes that i get fired up about. Those dont just appear out of nowhere and they can caus major problems..

 

Trust me I thought about it. But with only 4 hours left till 10 hours is up I chanced it. And now I think I have a cold. And yes call op and get a efs check if hotel accepts them

Sadly, some things never change. I remember searching empties one night at Seville back when it was still an OC. I think there were about 10 empties. Six leaked. SIX! My personal record for number of trailers repaired on my watch in one month was in March, 2008. That calendar month, I took TWELVE trailers through various shops for different problems from tires to leaks to brakes. But the final one was a trailer dropped AT the Indy yard with a broken tandem slide pin. Driver didn't tell anyone...just left it. I called my DBL and raised Holy Hell....she promptly contacted that driver's DBL and as far as I know, it may have cost him his bonus. But I have no clue how many miles I lost that month due to the actions of others.

No sympathy from me for the driver losing any money due to his own laziness.
