I agree. Everything that I have read says that the first year is the hardest for a new driver. Good luck.

Ok so I applied with Boyd and after a few emails and a phone call, they emailed me a pre-hire letter. Here's what it looks like. Notice the part that says: opportunity to become a Lease/LeasePurchase driver or Owner Operator. YEAH RIGHT!!! LOL

CONGRATULATIONS &WELCOME TO BOYD BROS. TRANSPORTATION, INC.!
You have beenconditionally pre-hired as an Over-The-Road truck driver with Boyd Bros. You are on your way to a new and rewardingcareer in an exciting and growing industry.

Being conditionallypre-hired is an indication that you appear to be a superior candidate for aprofessional company driver with the opportunity to become a Lease/LeasePurchase driver or Owner Operator. You shouldunderstand, however, that whether or not you ultimately work for Boyd Bros.will depend on your fulfilling all of the employment conditions andqualifications in our orientation.

I like CDDT because the classes start weekly & not every quarter like Metro or JTL. I called on a Thursday & started on the next Tuesday. I had driven the couple weeks prior to that with a friend of mine who does a local route from Lincoln to Grand Island & Hastings everyday & man let me tell you how valuable that was after riding in the truck with people learning how to shift. I shouldve taken a neck brace. The company Im getting on with pays back half tuition after 18 months & the other half after 3 yrs total. It sounds like a long time, but from talking to a couple of their drivers, I think I will be there long enough to get my full reimbursment. I graduate next week. If I wouldve went to JTL, I would still have 3 weeks left. It all depends on your situation & what youre looking for. Go over to Sapp bros. & pick a guy walking through the parking lot & pick his mind if he's going towards a truck thats a company you're considering
