    The new breed of driver is not able to know when its time park and sleep or drive. They need the government to tell them what to do and when to do it.

    As for my opinion, the Feds are bunch of smelly, chewed half digested hay from the south end of a pig headed north.

    It's funny that you cry about new breed of driver when truckers have been falling asleep and killing themselves and others way before E logs came out, b4 texting, b4 the hands free phone. Give me a break.

    Exactly. I haven't even been loaded yet. I still gotta tarp and all that. After I tarp and get everything done and have my 8 hours in I'll most likely go to the truck stop down the road, grab a shower, and then go home. I will however be taking a nap now. I ain't tired one bit, but I know I'll need it before I start driving.


    I agree. Our company doesn't really explain how to use our e logs correctly. The trainers only teach basic things. I had to teach myself how to do everything I now know how to do. Some of the new drivers I've met act like that box controls them, they don't know what to do and when to do it till the box says so. Sorry, but anything with a power cord can't control you.

    Honestly it is. In orientation we aren't taught ONE thing about them. We are only taught how to read the route.

    I was always told "your trainer will teach you everything about the elogs part".

    My trainer was cool but he only showed me how to change duty status and choose what reason for example "off duty, break" or "on duty- customer check in". Never taught me how to edit logs, approve logs or update load info.

    Don't get me wrong, I like this company, but after my year here I've seen a lot of things that need to change. It seems like Rick is more interested in making roehl a "Mega carrier" rather than a medium sized family run company. At least that's what I see, BUT that is all for a different topic.

    All E logs do is show when you driving and marks when you pass the required hours of service that has been set by the DOT for years now. If you want to drive 14 hours you can drive 14 hours. It just shows in Red so that the Dot officer can go ahead a write you up. Shut you down, and get the next outlaw. :)
