What is it about it you don't like? Now that I've started to figure out how these engines work and how to drive and maintain them, I wouldn't have any other.

My BXS does the same thing, the acuators don't like the cold/thick oil as soon as the oil temp gets around 115 or 120 it straightens out.

My MXS runs smooth when it first cranks. It's at about 575rpm low idle till it warms a few minutes, then it comes on up to 650rpm. But i run a spinner II centifuge. It helps keep the soot at a minimal. and the acuators are sensitive to soot. Just a thought.

It takes the truck to get up to temp and sometimes 8 to 10 hours of driving to get the check engine light to come on then you shut the truck off and start back up and the lights back off. Then the cycle starts over. If its an actuator problem you can make check engine light come on about 80% of the time by having truck sitting still turn on the jakes rev engine to make jakes work then on comes the light. That way you can get the flash code out. Problems with vvs derates the engine.

My BXS was de-rating with intermitant CEL some times it would lite sometimes not but engine stayed de-rated finaly took it to KW in cincinnati they found 3 bad conectors on the VVA harness, replaced the conectors (not entire harness just ends)and 1 relay. That was about 2 months ago so far so good. The service manager also claims once the motor de rates they have to clear the code before it will run right. If you still want to de-acert it, at least you've got the easy one, when you say "de-acert" do you mean just get rid of the VVA's or do you want to convert to single turbo?
