Have you guys heard about CoopsOpen? It is a weigh station status app that lets you see if a weigh station is open or closed, and then prompts you to update the status after you pass the weigh station. The website says an iPhone app will be available soon.

FYI - I found a new app in the Google play store (Android) for finding TV satellites for those who have a dish or a VuQube. Search for "satfinder" and install the free one by a programmer named "maceij grzegorczyk."

Another good one in there for finding azimuth is called "super compass" that I was using for quite a while, but this satfinder app is the cat's meow because it shows a Google map of where you are and a red line pointing to where the satellite is in relation to where you are sitting.

Android is free and open to developers, unlike Apple. The jerks.

Thats what I did, also bought a 3-mo old RAZRMAXX for 300.00 from a guy that could not afford his "new and improved" data plan,he only paid 99.00 for the phone, but its a 800.00 phone without the plan change, he was just looking to get his early termination fee back.

Just for giggles I downloaded this app to see how bad electronic log are going to screw me, I'm not going to be happy, this app has a edit button that I used regularly, but see for yourself the electronic logs are going to change the trucking industry, drastically and not in a good way unless they change the way we are paid.

i used this one last week just playing with it. i had to use the edit button to match my actual paper log since it kept change of duty down to the minute and you have to be careful with the gps location for changes it missed mine by 15 miles. in a diffrent town but it was handy to keep track of the hours.

    The Weather Channel

Also came across this website called etruckbiz.com (anyone else heard of them before?), seems like they are working on some new software to help keep up with all different kinds of DOT and safety paperwork. You should check out their survey if you have some free time. I feel like they are really into getting feedback from the industry to help make the best possible solution for the many different hassles due to paperwork. I know I hate all of the paperwork and who can't use a $100 amazon gift card (hopefully going to finally get that minifridge for my cab).

Apple does not charge for apps. It is the developer that does. Programing takes time and I know you don't drive for free why should someone program for free?
