My last rant was about headlight use.

now lets do the blinker lights.

the intended purpose of those lights are to indicate your"intentions"!! NOT I'm in your lane already and now the light comes on, as in , "Oh I meant to do that". I KNOW YOUR TURNING CAUSE YOUR IN MY LANE ALREADY !!!!!

Exit ramps, 100 feet prior to exiting. NOT half way down the ramp. we know your exiting ,cause your on the ramp.

turn them on before you move the vehicle, let people know what your going to do. not what your are already doing.

it shouldn't be a secret or a last minute thing. and yes the 4-wheelers sometimes do think it means pass on that side.lol

BUT, if you leave it on a second or two, someone will let you over, most of the time !!! and it will most likely be a 4-WHEELER !!!!

I've seen too many trucks sit in the passing lane wanting to get over .but no blinker on. then when a spot opens ,on it comes and over ya go.try putting it on and let people know that you want over. you may be surprised!!

thnx and be safe out there,

I'll add this: Particularly if a truck is behind me, I'll signal a quarter mile or more before exiting. This gives the driver time to either prepare to slow down, or to give him plenty of time to move left from behind me.

Yeah....I love the guys that signal after their already halfway back into the lane I'm in....

Any maneuver in a parking lot that may be a surprise gets my directional. Even when truckin it up in the hammer lane, if a 65 MPH truck signals to pass 62 mph, chances are I'll let them out.

Hey mentally challenged trucker! If your forget to kill your directional, I may get in front of you and rhythmically and repeatedly put mine on to alert you to your lack of attention to detail. Pay attention! People are afraid to pass you on that side.

Addendum: if I spot a deer on the shoulder of the road I'll pop my directional to let the driver behind me know. I was taught that in MT.

Numb and mama mia Thank this.

And the irony of all this ... not a single driver will recognize themselves in this post. I promise you, each and every driver reading this is thinking to themselves, "Not me." Even the guilty. Especially the guilty since they are the clueless, otherwise, they'd know better than to signal -after- the turn/lane change is started.

Reason some won't recognize themselves is that many of them can barely read nowadays, IMHO.

Gawd, I'm getting snarky in my old age.....
