I concur with the previous two statements (posts). My reply was a broad one. As a former Army driver, and logger, nothing beats a current 'back road' map book by province or state, or best yet, a recent survey map of your area ..... because that's pretty much a shoe in for hard pack or muck. I still will not trust an electronic device that plays it's info in real time. I'd rather have a peice of paper beside me.

Have you looked at landtracker for the I-phone
-
Who ? Me ? I'd need an I-Phone first. I still have an 'ol fashioned' cell phone. Matter of fact, it's so big and old, it came with it's own booth.Diletantte Driver Thanks this. -
once inside the booth, he transforms into.......SUPERTRUCKER"
Speedloader Thanks this. -
was directed at northboundhound. Not sure what oiltrax is like but landtracker/maps is all I use.
-
Same thing but using Oiltrax you don't have to convert from LSD to lat/long, just pump in the LSD format and off you go. Same technology, basically.

Worth the $$$ already; got me out of a potential mess running a tri drive/tri axle 110,000lb bulker.
Noobs should get either app - it will save your hass for sure. -
I am a big fan of CoPilot Truck. Does TDG routing pretty well and is a really good compliment to OilTrax on my iPhone and iPad.
