They aren't hiring for that account anymore. You have to apply on averitts website for any jobs they have available.

Well, I'm here at the Memphis yard on my 10 heading to Milwaukee, WI. My APU has gone out and the mechanics (kids) here tonight say they don't know anything about fixing it. Called maintenance and they said they couldn't do anything about it and to see the mechanics at Memphis. Called breakdown and they wouldn't do anything because I'm at the Memphis yard !! What makes it more fun is that I can't idle long because I have an exhaust leak that fills the cab with exhaust. Should be a fun week.

OK GUYS this is getting to be important now i have read bigmikes thread and his weekly updates on his journey and I have read mustangs and jmark and they all seem to be getting at least 2000 miles a week and thats good i can live with that. But i am reading other post and hearing that averitt was the worst trucking experince they have had with miles and planners and fms not getting them miles. Guys i have put in an app already done my interview background check and dac and got orintation set for jan 6th. I cant afford to make a mistake and join averitt and starve for miles. If the fm isnt doing their job can you change fms or what. I am a very hard worker and i dont like sitting. The way i look at it is when i leave my house off hometime i am there to work and provide for my family not sit. Can any of you give me some feedback.

Yeah, some folks are never happy. And I find the companies running more miles are usually paying less per mile and charging more for insurance etc. Hometime and benefits are the most important things to me.
My LTL run is 456 miles per night / 2280 per week which is perfect for me. -
Guys the average median income for a truckload otr driver is now at 37,000 per yr . That is public record not just a 1 company . Overall wages in the industry . You dont make 37 k a yr running 2500- 3000 miles a week . 40 k a yr by .37 a mile is only 2079 miles a week . The days of runnin 3 k a week are gone . And those of you who have demanded home weekly means you have to give up miles to make that happen . When you leave out on mon and they have to start reeling you back in on wed or thurs means you the driver will prob lose miles for that . Unless you can get to a dedicated account of some kind in the truckload world miles are down everywhere due to hrs of service , drivers wanting home , the economy , ect . The recruiters are all going to tell a prospective driver what he wants to hear to get them in the door . So bottom line is pick your poison men . Averitt is an awesome co to work for but they are suffering from the same afflictions the others have . Just a little input from an ole dog out here . Do your math well .

My suggestion is leave out on Sunday afternoon/evening and get to your customer even if it's a 100-200 mile load. That gets you some miles on the books and a fresh clock to run with on Monday morning. It doesn't always work out that way, but when I can do.
I have talked to drivers with Averitt who say they only get 1200 miles a week. When I dig into the conversation a bit deeper I find out things like: They don't like to drive at night and put up a fuss if they have to. They don't like going to PA, MD or NJ. They don't like going to TX. There tends to be an underlying lack of want to run in each of those stories I have heard personally.
As for sitting, the longest I have sat with Averitt is 33 hours in Memphis during Hurricane Ivan. All the freight seemed to be heading that direction and they refused to send anyone out in it. I also sat for 20 hours in OH one time. The last four weeks I have a dispatch either right after I send my empty call or before I get to my final.
This week I am at 2000 miles when I deliver in Bristol VA in the morning and that is Thursday morning. Will likely end up with 2300-2500 miles this week.
I hope this helps you. Also, I was told I would make 38-42 K my first year with Averitt and I am on track to do 41K my first year here at .35 cents a mile. Not bad for all the home time I have enjoyed, the inexpensive VERY good benefits and the amazing people I deal with each day. I am still very pro Averitt. Until the time I get a good paying home every day job I am here.
I talked to one guy who runs 11 days out and three home. He averages 2600 miles per week. I have thought about adopting that schedule to see how it might work for me. The FM's are good about doing stuff like that for you, btw. The key is communication.
