I was considering the LP because of the lower risk and the "warranty" but not getting any of the maininence fund back would make it tough to cover a repair on that high mileage truck anytime soon after the lease.

I never drove for CRST or CRST Malone, But if you look at Craigslist and call A few of the "UnNamed" Post, You will find most of those are CRST outside recruiters. I would never work for CRST. Any company that can't put there name on the job listing already knows there hated and dogged on these forums. I have had to deal with several of these folks over the last few weeks, 1 led me to belive she owned the trucking company, and 1 week after talking to her she calls and gives me a bus ticket to CRST in wich I blew my top on her for waisting my time. Anyone that hides there name can't be trusted for anything let alone your career and CDL's.

I have spoken with several of CRST Malone's recruiters on a number of occasions. They have always been straight forward and upfront with me. I have no idea about CRST corporate. It is not in the best interest of any carrier to allow their recruiters to misrepresent their job. It sounds like this individual is a recruiter for several companies.

I just bought another truck and have a driver taking it to Rockport on Monday morning. I have talked to NJ and she has been real honest and tells it how it is. She doesn't blow any smoke. I will keep posting as my driver gets going.

Not giving out any details but I can tell you the truck is pulling mostly $2.38/per mile so far. Lucked in to a load going to Knoxville 350miles paid truck $1964.72. Yes you read it right. $5.61 per mile popped up Wednesday evening and had to be delivered Thursday morning. I will be the first to say very rare to see this but it was true. Anyways I think Malone is the same as every other as you have good and bad everywhere.
whoopNride Thanks this. -
I think that is with any company. Works for one. Not for the other.
I was talking with a guy in Memphis the other day. He had been leased to CRST Malone since 1989. Dont find that very often.
He said the current CEO/President, was a night dispatcher back then.volvodriver01 Thanks this. -

We did fairly well with CRST-Malone. The best paid drivers will be CRST-Malone. We know some dudes who grossed $250,000. We averaged $2.60 on all miles. We just left because we couldn't get loads and had a new dispatcher, every time we turned around. The safety rating was killing us. I also find it funny that my husband was always told his logs were wrong, if he took off, after 25 years and our own company. They wanted them backwards. Every. Time.
Landstar has no issues with logs and time off. That alone was worth the jump. I don't have to try to explain how to read a log to a new auditor, who's never seen one.I don't have to send in logs for his days off, 3 months later. Every new auditor, he had to "correct" his logs for months. Who hires a log auditor who can't read logs? CRST. That pissed me off, more than anything else. Every new auditor and I had to fax logs. They would go back 9 months. We're not required to keep that stuff, I just do. Landstar has caught 2 small form issues.
We got two-three calls and messages asking us to come back. No thanks.
We're booked for two weeks. I could never do that with CRST-Malone. -
I've been with CRST Malone since may 2011 and so far have done pretty well. They have always been up front and honest with me. I run legal, keep my logbook current, keep my truck in good shape, and deliver my loads on time. I check in with my dispatcher once a day and then I am left alone to run my business however I want. If you're not afraid of hard work and "STAY IN THEIR RUNNING LANES", then it's almost impossible not to make decent money.
If you like hanging out in the truck stops, or only take no-tarp loads, or chase these high dollar loads that take you out of our running lanes, or if you expect dispatch to find your loads, then you're not going to be successful. They are not going to hold your hand. You got to be proactive to get the good loads. The good loads are not going to come looking for you. It's pretty simple.
