Roehl Driver Check In

Still in Palatka called about an hour ago still not ready. Now 8 Roehl drivers here waiting. Going to bed and get it in the morning. One driver had a local pizza place deliver this sand/mud lot here across the street from GP. Not a Roehl driver though one of the other companies here. Like a truck stop. Funny all the Roehl trucks are grouped together.

 

I have always been tempted to order a pizza when i have been stranded at a shipper like that.

 

It would be easy no address here they are the only place on this road.

 

Right now with freight being slows its coming. But before it slowed down the couple weeks I had running hard was great. Now I'm turning in 1800 here, 2100 there, need freight to pick back up. Don't get me wrong I'm still making money just not as much.

But I knew that I was signing up at a bad time so I shouldn't be ########. However, I do really like being a L/O. It's hard to explain but it's a different feeling. Can't beat it!

As for me, I got a Curtainside load going to Gary in for a relay. Load it self doesn't deliver until next month so needless to say I got plenty of time. Might take me 4/5 days to finish this 800 miles (haha just kidding!) I will tell you one thing, my business partner is just awesome. He is the coolest person to work with. Glad I got him to work with.

Also... If any of your F'ers have a columbia, you know how bright that dome light it. I just replaces the bulbs with dim LEDs. Like mood lighting. Really turned out great.

Might be hard to tell but if you look how the light one the first one covers the middle and how the second one doesn't really, just that difference makes a huge impact on how bright it is in my truck.

Dominos is a real good place for delivering to trucks. Some pizza huts and papa johns won't. If you have a iPhone just download the dominos app, punch in the customers address and it will tell you if they can deliver there or not.

 

Was woken up at 3:30 (4:30) eastern, because the wind shifted and paper mill stink came this way. Called and checked still not ready and trailer not even in a door yet to get loaded. Looks like a Sunday field party with the other drivers here as mine I think is the earliest scheduled of us here. 16:45 yesterday.

 

Up, but certainly not at 'em.

 

So i woke up and walked into shipper at 6am. here is our conversation.
Hey im the roehl guy from yesterday
him. yea i got your note why are there so many numbers i just need one
(they gave me six more pick up numbers)
Me. they dont know whats a good number that will work.
Him. they are all bad. they have already been picked up.
Me. are you ####### kidding me.
Him. i have nothing agianst you man ill give you a load i just need a good pick up number.
Me. i know im sorry let me go and call them agian.
Him no problem ill be here come back if you can get a good number.
Me. thanks let me go check now.
