I would. But I work for them.
Good starter company. Good equipment, good freight (most of the time), good training program.
Like most starter companies, probably not a long term proposition. A few of us fit in and make it long term. Most will move on.

I heard from someone that they will lie to you and treat you like a piece of ****. Much like C.R. England. I am thinking about driving a flat bed for them out of Texas. I have a Texas CDL A and my DOT health card. But not much experience driving a tractor trailer but I can drive very good having drove large ten wheel straight trucks for 20 years. I just DO NOT want to drive a reefer anymore ! I also have not drove for several months, I drove a tractor trailer down to Florida then made several deliveries up to Chicago then back home with no problem.

Now if you have heard this, why in the world would you post and ask if anyone would recommend driving for them?
It's all a matter of opinion and perception.
If you're looking towards flatbed and don't want reefer, why ask about Stevens?
That's like asking if anyone would recommend Hagen Das when you don't like ice cream.

    Dinomite and amwilletts10 Thank this.

You do know that Stevens is a reefer company right?? They have no flatbeds save the lowboy that hauls wrecked trucks back to the yard

I heard Stevens Transport has just started a flat bed division, is this a lie ? They tried to start a tanker / frac sand division but it failed. Who does have a good flat bed division that would hire and " train " someone OR " refresh " a driver with class A license, and I prefer Texas or allow me to live in Texas. I thought about driving for TMC but my truck driving friend told me DO NOT go there !!

Melton Truck Lines in Tulsa(terminal in Dallas) is flatbed. Tractors have APU's also.
TMC, Maverick, Boyd Bros. are all good companies.
Roehl is building a terminal in Texas, but don't know if it's one of their flatbed divisions or not.

Stevens Tanker division is running strong. Kind of a shaky start, but they are running more than 100 trucks now.
I don't think they'll ever look at flatbeds.
