Why do some on the forum say that truckers don't make more than a fast food worker

Most drivers that pay cash are owner operators. I am not in a "mess" from paying cash. I have a feeling alot of other owner ops aren't in a "mess" either from paying cash. Whats this "mess" you speak of? My truck so I choose whether I pay cash or not and its nobody's business whether I do or not.

simply talking about record keeping, if you pay cash and don't keep a record of it, of course it can be a mess. You still have your fuel surcharge, taxes etc.. no matter how you pay. The poster who said cash is king was insinuating so you had no records to show.

You are actually jipping yourself if you don't keep track.

For the last 6 months up until ealier today my profile stated I have been drivin for 62 years and was born in 1944. Today I felt like changing it to 5 years of driving. Either way I bet I have been an owner op longer than you. Not being some smart*** but what I mean is who cares what a profile states on an internet forum? I have been in the business long enough to know how to do my taxes and make a good wage off of trucking whether I have 5 years of driving or 62 years of driving.

There are times I get fuel I might pay cash and not use my truck number or I might use a different DOT# if I accidently hit a wrong button or whatever so what record in the computer is going to show I got fuel. Don't say camera's as some of the truckstops I fuel at don't have any.

Yeah but can that fast food worker eat that then go back to work "booming" at will without worry of offending someone? I call THAT a perk!

That's wonderful, then why are you arguing in comments knowing what your saying is wrong? Sounds like you just like to start trouble, I will not respond to you any longer. Besides the fact you just contradicted yourself, saying it didn't matter how long, and saying longer than me. Whatever.

As far as your status why do you feel the need to be a liar? Even worse, if you have as much experience as you say, someone might be able to learn something from you, but by the way you've been we'll never know.

I wear a tinfoil hat at truck stops so they can't read my thoughts about getting fuel, how much, and what time...
