Hey maverick drivers, every time I see a maverick truck it's so shiny and clean. Does ur company makes u clean them urself, clean them for u, or do they have u get them washed at a truck wash (at ur own expense or company pay for it)? Just wanted 2 know how it works cuz in 2 months I most likely will be driving one of them beautiful shiny clean trucks!

They pay for it and require it. I think all companies should. Nothing says a driver cares about his job more than a clean truck. Companies that want to contract you see that, and see that if you care about your appearance and your truck, you'll care about their frieght.

then on the other hand, there are companies out there that dont pay for it. and sorry, but as a company driver, why should i care more about YOUR truck than you do?

That wasn't what the question was about. That's a whole other debate. I care more about my truck than the company does, I am the one living in it. I clean my apartment too, and I don't own it. To each their own. Fortunately my company pays for my truck to be washed, then I polish it, doesn't cost much to do that.

    Lonesome and TruckerMike84 Thank this.

Yeah thanks man, do they have any limits on how times you can wash it? So true, been saying that since I started, I just love a nice clean truck driving down the road, pulling into the shipper, and receiver, makes u feel good, and makes a good impression, not only u but also the company, especially when u got all ur drivers coming in with clean trucks

Yeah but you live in it, not on it. Do you clean the outside of your apartment, do you need scaffold, or can you get it with a ladder

    To the OP:
We can go through a Blue Beacon every 21 days. Maverick pays for the tractor and trailer to be washed. Also, we have a drive through truck wash at two of our terminals.

    Hammerin' Hank Thanks this.

If my house looks dirty, yes I clean it inside and outside (well my gf does the cleaning inside more then me haha). Sorry I like to take care of things and make it look nice. That's just me, #### I clean my shoes if they dirty, well not the ones I use for trucking. But that's just me, I don't care if u do or not

Yeah, Evil E is correct. Blue Beacon every 21 days for me since I never get out to the NLR or Madison terminals being in a dedicated route. Our trucks DO get awfully dirty though! Just last week I delivered to this consignee up around the Chicago area, a RIDICULOUSLY TIGHT back into a downgraded door/dock and to top it off more than half of the space (on my passenger side) to use for the back was deep, wet mud. Almost got stuck, needless to say I needed a wash in the worst way, but couldn't until yesterday when I got close to a BB wash on my deadhead home for the Holidays. There are times when I (and others) have to drive around in a muddy truck.

I think I only saw one slightly dirty mavrick truck out like 500 haha. A silly question, only been driving for 4 months now (temp control/reefer) but flatbed have to dock? I didn't think they did...
