They used to just stand them on end on a rubber mat, then they started nailing wood blocks to the floor to hold them in place, not sure what they do with them now...but it does not sound like it's in the drivers best interest.

They still deliver the rolls the same way... mostly Gypsum delivering them.... System freight guys only carry 4 rolls because 90% of their trucks are sigle axles... the system guys only deliver in the event of an emergency.

Oh btw the rolls are just placed in the trailers not secured... each roll is about 7K lbs. If you would like more info about System let me know.

They are really short on drivers right now and if you can tolerate long days then you can make some decent money... I just dont see them as a long term job for anyone interest in longevity. There is better out there!!

I don't need to make a big move then not have a job in a year....think I'll pass. Must be why the hiring bonus isn't paid up front..lol

Not sure what your point is? were you agreeing with me or trying to prove me wrong and just want to voice your opinion?
The rolls are delivered with nothing securing them other than a flimsy rubber mat and in some cases its not even there... The Bolus drivers sometimes use locking bars... either way this thread really had nothing to do with the rolls in general... I was just describing the possible work Oldyankee could expect while working for System Freight!!!

I was agreeing with you and depending on what terminal he would run out of he can expect to do a lot of paper products but also to inform him that those rubber mats actually work quite well and not get scared lol

I agree with pop! I've hauled hundreds of loads from IP(Internation Paper) in Ticonderoga NY and that is how they do it too. Full load to the back doors. I never had a problem with them!

i work down the road from systems freight / rocktenn and my company hauls corrurgated packaging that rocktenn produced. I can tell you that they are always hiring drivers orver there. not only drivers but also mechanics and administrative so something has to be ###### if they can not hold drivers. i see many of there drivers daily dropping shuttles of product into our yard but never talk to them... if you working there come next door to victory packaging i can get you in over there. hourly pay benefits same tractor 5am to 3-5pm work. you will have to make deleiverinees into 5 boroughs of ny tho. but once u go to the customers a few times it aint to hard. let me mention starting out expect to make 17 and hour with ot after 40. guys make over 22 an hour here but have been here long time
