Why do some on the forum say that truckers don't make more than a fast food worker

    I expected them to up hold there contract with me.
    450 for the first 4 weeks
    500 for week 5 and 6.
    week 7 my own truck.

    They didn't hold up the contract with me.

    That money is once your on a trainer truck. You bailed after 1 week.And you didn't take a single advance?

    they settled for bad gigs or have heard of people who have...im a truck driver fresh out of "school" only people making as much or close to as much in fast food are in n out gms they make 80-100k I think with bonuses etc or so I was told by my old neighbor who is an in n out gm. $500 every two weeks is laughable in the oil field our sr driver makes that daily when its all said and done.

    Definitely not. It was at Pride when they still paid per mile during training.

    Training is paid at a flat rate with most companies but that's a different topic. This thread is about truckers comparing their mileage pay against fast food workers' hourly pay

    Hourly wages vs cents paid per mile is a bogus argument in any case. Compare year-end results, net before taxes. Your fast food worker is lucky to break $20k. The vast majority of truck drivers are well beyond that.

    @nate hourly is good but I think the best gig is mileage plus hourly pay for getting loaded/unloaded, etc
