Trucking is a lonely job, I just feel better parking next to you! (Joke, I agree 100% with you.)

some truth tho. If I was out in the middle of nowhere, and there was another truck, I'd park CLOSE to him. not necessarily next to him, and probably staggered so the APU/engine wouldnt make a difference. I'm afraid of being all alone and need someone close by..

I would park next to him whichever side had the better internet access/wireless with no regards to where my various exhausts were pointed !!

I always thought you guys nose in because you cant back up, but you are not smart enough to figure out that eventually have to back out or maybe hope the lot gets empty enough to back up ten feet then turn out because that is your limit to back up..

Takes me the same amount of distance to back out of a spot as it does to pull out of a spot. But then I am not like some of the swift drivers were it doesn't matter if you take someones hood off or scraping their mirror off when pulling out of a spot either.

Come on, Rat! You know it takes more room to back out because of the geometry of a trucks pivots, overhang, and steer point.

And to the OP. Trucks are like flies; where there is one, soon there will be more.

No, not at all. As it is usually dark, when I get parked, I nose in so people can witness my superior backing skills in the light of day, when I leave.

Zen Trucker, Hammer166 and 48Packard Thank this.

I nose in park since half the box dragging freight haulers like taking off hoods.
