So if you had a female dispatcher watching on a spy cam and you stripped nekkid and did some therapeutic stretches before crawling under the covers you might be charged with sexual harassment?

Don't hold your breath. Drive Cam is growing by leaps and bounds. More and more insurance companies are making it mandatory, whether your company likes it or not. As others have said. you can't get two drivers to agree on the weather, much less "unity". And sure, I'll quit my 80K+ a year job with retirement and full benefits, just because some yahoo behind a desk wants to watch me hit a pothole. We have them and it's no big deal. I eat, drink water etc. and do all the other things I have always done behind the wheel. What my company looks for is cell phone usage, no seat belts and tailgating. Don't do that ? Then your fine. Their NOT looking in the sleeper and their is no "real time" viewing. And yes, it has actually saved more jobs, than it has "lost"..Get over your paranoia. It's their truck, they can do what they want. http://www.drivecam.com/

Actually, I do quite a bit better that that (UPS Parcel Feeder). But that wasn't the point of this post. And it took me a LONG time to get to this point. Like close to 24+ years...Funny how you finally get to the "big bucks" and then all of a sudden it's time to retire. Cutting loose in 16 months..

What do these types of system run? Do the benefits outweigh the cost, and I don't mean perceived benefits I mean actual savings/cost avoidance. If not, where does the money to install such a system come from? How about the ongoing fees and maintenance of such equipment?

Don't get me wrong, I'm neither for nor against a camera(s) in the truck I'm just not sure if they're worth the cost.

Its kind of how I roll, if this all comes to an end ill carve something else out for myself. Id hope my employer would be open to hearing my honest opinions/concerns rather than just hearing yes all the time
