1 week is all it took for me to get fed up with the sensor. I've started looking for a new job. Filled out an application last night.

The new job will pay more and its flatbed which is what I really want to do. They also have APUs and allow inverters. So if they accept it I'll be giving my 2 weeks and moving out.

It was good for the first year, but this sensor is too far.

That sounds familiar. Seriously, it's a crying shame about this sensor thing. I lasted more than a week with it, but then again, it wasn't even winter yet. They took away what little quality of life I had on the road, right down to being able to turn on the light at night. I had happened to be extra annoyed with the sensor thing when the people that work at the Carlisle OC got rude with me, again, so I started to fill out applications on my computer in the cafeteria there (because I didn't have power in my truck, of course). Any time I started to question my decision, I would remember back to the 90-100 degree summer days where I idled my chances of bonus away, or idled despite state laws since I lacked an APU.

I *finally* got all my ducks in a row, and am starting with my new company on Monday.

I gave up when they've had me sit for greater than 24 hrs twice this week with the sensor in mid 30s weather. Having to use a broom stick to idle the truck for 20 minutes every 2 hours is ridiculous. Then I woke up at 2AM and it was 40 degrees inside the truck and that's what helped me make my decision.

It also helps that the place I'm hoping for pays significantly higher starting out, is mostly flatbed, and seems to care for their drivers. I just talked to one of them a few minutes ago here at the Flying J I'm staying at and from what he said it's sounding like a pretty good deal over there.

I'm going to leave SNI on a good note so if it doesn't work out I'll at least have a place to fall back on.

hey schneider drivers....can someone tell me what to expect on the bulk side of schneider? im thinking about coming back after 6 yrs away. I know i would need some refresher on the "orange" way of pretrips and pumpdowns etc as ive gotten kinda lazy the past few years. Also, ive only had home everyday dedicated positions so ive yet to have any real OTR experience....I have my tanker and hazmat as of may 2012, i would like to start using them....
    thanks

Nakmuay, weren't you looking at bulk sometime ago? Was just wondering why you decided against it. I'm thinking about switching over there.
