Ya, but I'm sure my left knee will be happy next time I hit a 2 hour traffic jam.

I'll be balancing out that lazy from the auto with tarping and strapping all the time.

You'll be right at home. Maverick's glass-hauling division was purchased from SNI! :biggrin_25523:

But Mav is a good choice from everything I've heard and driver's I've spoken with in passing. I wish you nothing but the best!

I am aware that I'm going from SNI to former SNI but oh well, the pay is better and I have been wanting to do flatbed.

Talking with one of their drivers this morning is what made me submit the app. After reading the Mav section here and talking with the recruiters I am happy with my choice so far. Sent in the last bit of info they were looking for about employment history a little while ago so they should have everything they need. They said they should call back Monday and that if Idon't hear anything to call back Tuesday and check on my app. They didn't see any issues and said that I should have no problems getting hired.

If/When I do get hired I have 1 week of orientation, 1 week of securement, and then 1 week of glass training. After that I can either spend a week or 2 with a trainer or go on my own. It's up to me after the glass training. Not requiring me to ride with a trainer makes me very happy.

I'm kinda hoping I hear back at the beginning of the week so I can tell my DBL that once I go home next weekend I will be cleaning out the truck and moving on.

I was just pickin' on ya for the former SNI part....not everyone knows that one was formerly the other. Again, nothing but the best to you!

Today was a first for me. I spent more time on the phone talking with people at SNI than I did driving. A whopping 24.8 miles and about 50 minutes on the phone, virtually none of it was on hold either. Between the AP, SEM, box planner a lousy day turned absolutly crappy. The only upside is they installed me sensor wrong so I can idle 30 minutes at a crack. That and I'm getting layover/breakdown, not very good icing but something's better than a kick in the nuts.

As for why I'm staying at SNI - I can't find another carrier with a yard in GB that I can make as much at. I'm willing to put up with a lot to avoid a 15% pay cut which is the best I found when I went looking. I found good pay/crappy miles, good miles/crappy pay, good miles and pay/unhappy work environment. So even though I get the occasional weeks like this it still works out to my benefit.

Yea, I didn't know either until I looked into the company's history. I've done quite a bit of research about them and read a lot of the threads in the Mav section.

Thanks for the well wishes. Hope everything works out where ever you are as well.

It will be for starting out. Just don't expect to spend the rest of your life working here. Get the needed experience and then move on to better things.
