Have $500.00 cash in your pocket when stopping/parking @ Walmart in Eaton,Ohio

I hate to break this news to everyone...but trucks are COMMERCIAL vehicles, and as far as the 5 tons etc....its fairly obvious that a flatbed with a coil on, weighs more than 5tons, not like you have to break out the jump scales for that one. Guys, use some common sense. As drivers, we have to use discretion and do the best we can. We don't have rights to park our trucks wherever and whenever we want. Its like saying we should be able to carry guns, for personal protection , because its our right....the simple fact is, once that door shuts, you are under different rules than the general public. Period. Its YOUR job to figure things out, not Walmart, or any other businesses problem to cater to you and provide parking just for you. Places like cabelas love our business, and provide parking, but in most cases, people hate trucks.

 

so if I have a helicopter can I land it at wal mart?

 

Well duh! They are under 5 tons! Just don't be longer than 5 minutes filling out your flight log, or you might look out your window and see three tow truck drivers standing there holding your rotor blades demanding $500 and then you would be out of lunch money. Lol

 

Do you cease to be a person when the door to your truck closes? The 2nd Amendment is quite clear...The Right of the People to Keep and Bear Arms SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED! There are no exceptions for persons engaged in interstate commerce. Whereas guns are concerned, there are no "different" rules for truckers as there are for the general public. You are obligated to obey the state laws for whatever state you happen to be in....just like everybody else in the cars around you. YOUR COMPANY might have a policy prohibiting arming yourself, but there is no federal law or regulation prohibiting it.

 

What if the gun weighs more than 5 tons??

 

Then you level the tow trucks with the gun!

 

I doubt you'd be carrying it around on your hip...might be turret mounted, though. Guarantee with something like that sticking out of your roof, people would be less likely to cut you off.

 

Just tow around a howitzer, that should deter all of those pesky tow drivers lol. And yes I understand that you are allowed to carry, I was simply pointing out the reality that 90% of carriers don't allow it.

 

I park at wal-marts but I call. I've never been told no.

I've also had the mis-fortune of having to change a glad hand or two. I have the knowledge and the tools and it sure did always take me longer than 5 minutes.

 

Well all I can say is that if the aliens decide to make first contact with us someday they should not choose this wal-mart to land their ship at.
