Interesting friends we have here on TTR. While I agree that some parts of the OP's story doesn't pass the smell test, I don't think the constant beating down of the OP by those who say the entire story is BS is warranted. My personal experiences in Ohio give much warrant to the truthfulness of most of the story. I have been to, as many of you have, Wal-marts that have "No Truck Parking" signs, but you see 10 trucks in the parking lot. I have been to one city (wish I could remember exact name) in Ohio that every Big Box retailer had a "No Truck Parking" sign. You stopped, shopped, and got the heck out of there. They didn't bother you unless you SLEPT there. I have also been personally ticket for Illegal Parking by a state trooper in an Ohio Tollway Service Plaza. True story! I was wrong, but a parking ticket?? Come on, the way drivers park in some of those areas... I digress, but did deserve it.

I also think that even if half the story is true, the one part that is probably mostly true is the tactics of the Towing Company. No Towing company should 1. tamper with your vehicle 2. extort money from you. That is wrong, no matter what details of the story are missing or half truths. And if any of you have had your vehicle towed, you know that those companies usually, not always, are not the nicest to deal with. I have known a few tow truck drivers, for a reputable company, and they have told me enough horror stories that we could start a thread on that alone.

I also agree with others that the sign says "No Unauthorized Vehicles" So what is an Unauthorized Vehicle? There is to much leeway in "unauthorized" that the sign itself is truly irrelevant. And if you really want to get technical, "No Truck Parking" while we all know that pertains to Commercial Vehicles it could be interpreted to mean anyone driving a pick-up truck, moving truck, etc. I am no lawyer, but I would think that in a lawsuit, class-action if there are as many "victims" as the OP says, the "unauthorized" part could be easily challenged in court and this company would be in big trouble.

My last comment, 911 call with no report and the officers arriving and helping the tow truck company???? Small town? That is a problem, I don't care what you believe of the rest of what he said, if that is true then those of you with tin foil hats and black helicopters flying around your house should be worried. When the officers are in on the scam or turning a blind eye to it, that is when democracy is truly threatened!

I don't doubt elements of the OP's story are true. I question the voracity with which they have chosen to pursue this matter.

And bringing up the Bill of Rights.

And be sure to add the Obamatax to that...lol, and I agree with others about parts of this story being true, but exaggerated. I have been to Walmarts in Ohio and woken up at 4am by a security guy in a car asking me to move, but most of these guys don't really care as long as you arent being blatant about it and blocking an entire isle or parked sideways taking up 14 parking spots..

So I say....wait and see....no further opinion for now...

The guy who removed the glad hand from my truck without my approval would be eating thru a straw for quite a long duration, and after him I would invite his friends to try their luck.
    Thos does not sound right?
