We shouldn't have to sleep in a bag out add thermo underwear. We are not cavemen. Maybe SNI should buy day cabs and put drivers in hotels every night like Estes does

That's the name of the game RazorOrange. Will you have to change your name after you leave?

To moosc , I'm just doing what I can to keep a job lol! I know it sucks, but you really don't have to stay in their truck. If you're that mad, get a hotel every night on your dime. The way I see it, they're giving you a privilege to stay in the truck for shelter while on the road.

I hope to God you're not serious.

If your job is to be on the road, and you are expected to use a sleeper cab in the course of your duties as an OTR driver, then you #### sure should be provided with the proper and appropriate equipment to not just do the job, but to be safe and at least relatively comfortable while on the road.

Don't give me this "privilege" garbage. No one is owed a job. But if you're expected to do a job, then the company should make accommodations for that driver to do that job. Is there a certain level of hardship and discomfort associated with OTR trucking? Absolutely. But please don't try to pass this off on everyone. If you're willing to put up with it, I'm sorry for you.

I really can't believe you think this way.

That's true, but we can't tell them how to spend their money. It's either dedicate or get off the pot.

With that I completely agree. The only way a company will make a change favorable to the driver is for drivers....en masse....to speak up and/or quit. As long as a company is allowed to, they will behave in this manner.

But that does not in any way change my feeling that a company has at least a moral obligation to provide heat and cooling as part of adequate shelter for the "privilege" of working OTR.

Had I not left SNI when I did, the second those ambient temp sensors were installed would have been the time because they are so imprecise and unreliable. Not to mention asinine.

We jumped ship last week....hated to do it because there is (or was) a lot more right about Schneider than there was wrong. Last night, I slept with my Labrador Retreiver curled up at my feet (no additional charge to me), covered with a sheet, because the Im not used to the APU yet, and it was too hot in the cab. This morning I woke up and fixed my first pot of coffee, thanks to the company installed 2500 watt power inverter, and now, Im sipping on an ice cold pepsi, thanks to the company installed refrigerator. No company is perfect, and Im sure as time goes by Ill find Big M's weak spot, but for now, Im loving this. Come on in....the waters fine!!!
