My truck has not broke down once since I got it nor have I blown any tires on the truck. I need to knock on some wood. Is your head available? Lol. I have blown 2 trailer tires though and I got them replaced. Our lights are pretty much all LED lights and those things hardly ever go out. No mudflaps replaced either but I don't back into curbs to cause that.

With all the D/H and ASAP freight I have read about you doing, I was positive you knew your customers and best freight lanes, something many drivers never think about.

You're welcome..

They do make it sound like good, don't they? Too easy!! But on the other hand,I drove for years in Germany. And now that I think about it,I've never had a flat, missing mud flap. But I did break down once!! And some runs were easy, most were an inconvenience! Those are the breaks I guess! But you're right....it sounds way too easy!

I was referring more to the trailers he picks up as far as flats and mudflaps, lights ect. I see some of their trailers and how they operate but I think he just doesn't bother to fix anything on em and drops em for the next driver. Lol.

Just sent in the app. Will see what happens. BTW BK2, Where in IN. I'm in southwest.
BigKid2 Thanks this. -
I've been with ACT a year..
in that time I have picked up 2 trailers with flats..one had been dragged thru the yard at a shipper by the yard dog..it was drug til the tire blew (I followed the black marks to the trailer). The other, I dropped my loaded and there were 2 empties..1 had a sidewall blown out, I chose that trailer and took it to the ACT yard, red tagged it..grabbed an empty and received a thank you, 1200 mile 14,000 lb load.
This is trucking, it's not all peaches and cream..The only complaint I will make about ACT is half the trucks on elogs and half on paper.
If you're going to accuse BK of favoritism, milk runs all drop/hooks..that's not the case..there is more flexibility on paper..I.e deliver as soon as ya get there..with the ability to stage yourself close to your preplanned pick up..basically paper allows a driver to achieve an extra load per pay period..changing a consistent 2,400 mile week into a 2,900 week.
I know that we have all been crapped on by this industry for so long, it's difficult to believe that there a few good companies available.
Heck, don't take my word for it (I'm just a driver) call OOIDA like I did.. They told me "we don't normally recommend companies, but we work with ACT and reviewed the lease purchase they offer..it's fair, and would recommend them".
Good luck.Last edited: Jan 9, 2013

App. was accepted, and offer made. Talked to BK2 on the phone, accepted offer, and will be on the way to orientation for this coming Mon. Looking forward to it. BK2 lives not far from me so also looking forward to meeting him in person at some point. Off I go ...
BigKid2 Thanks this. -
Good post and well written and appreciate your candor! Your right about paper versus Elogs but I'm still not buying that drivers bill of goods. Sorry, it's nothing personal but there's more to the story than what he puts out here....... Have a good one!
