But how many are willing to pay for it, not many. The 53' trailers will become more common just like the 48' did and the pay rate will be the same as a 40'. Don't believe me, just look at what rates are now. Everyone wants a 48 but the rate is for a 38! Besides I never understood the point in having 5' hanging off the back that is useless unless you haul all light stuff, and then its just to benefit the shipper, who isn't paying any more or very little extra. Last I checked there is a price difference between a 48 and 53.
Sorry but I watched all this happen when everyone got sucked into the 48x102 era from the 45x96.
Nope just a spread axle. The third axle is setting in the garage waiting to be put on.

I used to do LTL's with a 45' covered wagon, now they are done by a bunch of idiots as stop offs.
Now if you had a 53' with the spread set all the way back that might be worth something, or atleast back to the 51' mark.Logan76 Thanks this. -
I went from a 53' to a 48' step and lost almost 2K lbs. The difference in weight made more of a difference in freight than having the extra 5' for me.
So everyone's set up is little different. Sometimes the smaller trailer is an advantage. Sometimes I wish I had a constago but that's additional weight too. -
It's all your freight and what kinda wagon it needs

Here's the bed plates I have on going to GE Wind Energy in Pensacola tomorrow. They are already wrapped in plastic and they just want tarps to keep it from ripping and coming off. Most the guys do these once a week and all have the mesh tarps. I wasn't that lucky lol

Throwin those tarps more and more SHC!
fortycalglock and The Challenger Thank this.
