Who is your recruiter, btw? If its Joe Davis, hes a pretty straight shooter. He doesnt usually embellish the truth.

I talked to a guy named Neal. I'm OTR and I was just happy to get back rolling for experience. I've been here for six months and so far so good. Its slow freight now, but when I started in the Summer I was rolling good.

For my area (central NC) her name is Donna, shes been good, she takes time to write me back via email etc...been good with information. She said I would go through the exp. orientation. Ill take her word for it. Ive had my CDL for 7 yrs. but have not once spent the night in the truck. I had dedicated routes with lowes and home depot and i was home every night. With the hours of service i never had to use them really. I know ill have a learning curve, and im hoping they go over all this again, even in the exp. orientation. Trip planning as well lol....

SNI recruiters dont seem to be operating on a quota basis. Joe told us exactly how it was going to be....warts, wrinkles, and all. Hard to find a company who works like that.

I agree that 2200 sounds high for this time of year. Lately I've been lucky to see 1800 in a week. In a month or two fright should start picking back up. By summer 2500-2800 should be possible if you trip plan properly and make sure you set all your ETA/NAT times correctly. It might be a little lower for you as regional since they can give you the longer runs that OTR can get.

There is other pay you're missing. There's Layover/detention/Short Haul/Multi Stop pay. They will go over the different rates in orientation. They should also give you a manual with all the info and rates in it. There have been times where I've made more money on the other things than the mileage pay for a load.

thanks for all the feedback....so the general consensus is 2200 miles per week on regional is a bit high for the out 6 home 2 (or 1.5)...thats cool, i guess the more frequent home time is a fair trade off. ( i have two small ones at home and the wife lol) well im hoping for a newer cascadia, i hear there pretty nice, and 650.00 take home is twice more than im making now...

First week of January I did 2 Home Depot Direct to store loads. One had 3 stops and the other 2. It wasn't too bad and they got me unloaded quickly at most of the stores. The only problem was that they are so picky about the delivery window on those loads and I had to drive through the night to make it on time for the first one. The nice thing about the HD direct to store stuff is if you get there the night before you can hang out behind the store for the night and they won't complain.

That's another thing I've been doing a lot lately, spending the night at customers. Kinda sucks having to stop mid way though the day all the time and eat up 30+ minutes for a shower.

I wouldn't get your hopes up for a Cascadia. Chances are they will have some other newbie in a Century that they will through him into a Cascadia and leave you with his old truck. It's possible, but not likely.

The Cascadias are much nicer than a Century. I couldn't believe how quiet they are and how smooth they ride when I first drove one. At night when I can Idle I don't even feel it. There's very little vibration of the truck once it get to the 750RPM idle speed and the engine is very quiet. The insulation in the sleepers much be thicker because even if a truck is idling next to me at night I usually can't hear it unless it has straight pipes or a fan that won't turn off.
