Loads at Prime are generally scheduled at 45mph & 10hrs per day. Driving at 54-57 gets my loads there with plenty time. Occasionally the schedule is tighter.

All those trucks in the Springfield yard are '09 & '10 phased out tractors that are for sale. A dispute with Peterbilt caused a lag in new trucks, & freightliner just cannot build them fast enough.

New drivers sometimes find that freedom out on the road too much to handle. Sleeping in, hanging at the truck stop or just mismanaged time will get that truck issued to another driver quick. Also generates "prime sucks" stories of all colors.

I know that I wouldn't be happy if I went to all the trouble that Prime puts you through to get in the door, only to find that they're going to make me sit and wait without a decent paycheck until they get their stuff straight. I hope Robert pays those new drivers what they would have earned had they been able to get out there and start working. They shouldn't have to bear the brunt of the company's mismanagement.

It's not unusual to have a waiting list this time of year. Freightliner and Paccar both shut down their production lines over the holidays, and it takes a couple of weeks to get the flow going again. The trucks lined up in Springfield are mostly ready to be turned in.

Yup, company drivers have to toe the fuel economy line, or Prime invites them to additional training or orientation at your carrier. Too many tickets gets you there too in short order.

l I guess they had a truck come yesterday from someone who was put out? because of a medical condition. Guess the truck is pretty well pigged out too.

That sux, sly... you could innocently ask a few questions at the detail shop. I've seen a driver get ahead by being proactive.
