TMC Orientation - WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW

it's been long time but the basics are probably much the same i remember there were 3 guys sent home with 2 days of traning left guess what at that time drug testing was not as advanced as now if your test came back inconclusive [ i think thats right] any how they had to send to another testing place it took 7 to 10 days for results to get back there was 17 people started training we finished with 5 and 1 instructer was fired the thing it took me thelongest to understand was i would go out in the middlle of a field load rusty steel bars and they would tell me they needed to be tarped that made no sense untill a guy that worked in managment told me that around 60% of their steel didn't require tarps but tmc required it to keep other companys from knowing what they were hauling.

 

I just love all the about TMC. 100 % of the people talking bad about TMC just could hack it. I love the company and if you want to know the truth about it let me know. Yes it has the same bull crap that any trucking company will have. But if you want to make the most money the soonest TMC is for you

 

In 20 years I have never seen when TMC wasnt hiring. They must only hire guys who "Can't hack it".

 

Trucking companies hire all the time, especially the big companies. Mainly because, and it doesn't matter what company you talk about, only about 20% of drivers they hire are there for more than 6 months.

 

yes TMC has a high turn over rate but what company doesn't. Most of you wanna be's out there just are steering wheel holders and don't want to put in effort to make it work.

 

Tell us about their cleaning of the trk rules.I have yet to see a dirty tmc trk.

 

only problem about TMC is they advertise "home 46 out of 52 weekends." That was so not true for me. My dispatcher said "do you believe everything you read?" Learned this after I was already out on my truck.

It felt like a smack in the face. That was the main reason I moved over to them was the family time. WRONG!

 

YEP I hear ya.You learn not to believe the ads the longer you're in trucking.

 

yes the 46 out of 52 is a joke for most. I live in an awesome area for freight and when i was a line haul driver i got home most weekends when i chose to. Now cleaning the truck. If your a slob TMC is not the place for you. But if you like a clean vehicle its not as bad as everyone talks about. But if your going in for service you need to clean up the inside. I feel they use it as a tool. To get rid of the guys that dont produce.

 

TMC does have beautiful equipment no doubt about it but you're job is to deliver freight not be a merry maid to your trk.I understand keeping the trk clean,I don't like dirty trks either but to charge a driver if the shop feels the cleaning is not up to their standards that in my opinion is a bit much.Do they also make you wash the trk once a week?
