Whats wrong with fleetguard ? if your filter is plugging up that means it's doing it's job.

Plugging up may mean it's doing it's job, but a better filter can run longer and still do it's job. It's all about surface area inside the filter. More surface area will filter just as well and take longer to plug up. We had poor results with Fleetguard filters plugging up and drivers having to change them on the road between PM's. The same micron Baldwins have been lasting PM to PM with no issues.

Try using a cat filter 256-8753 fuel water seperator, it is a 10 micron filter, thats what I use and have no problems running it to 20,000 miles. I tried some baldwin and fleetgaurd filters before to save a couple dollars, my truck didn't run quite as strong and lost .2 in mpg. The other fuel filter I run is the 1R-0749.

I find if a filter is plugging in 8-9000 miles, don't stop there for fuel again.

Either it's poor service station tank maintenance or crappy fuel.

i get fuel at the same place every time. in fact i used to deliver fuel to this station so i know where the fuel comes from and what its hauled in. the QTs take care of their stuff. the fuel is all the same in every station u go to. it all comes from the same hose at the terminal.

Biodiesel is highly detergent. It will clean your system for you whether you want it to or not.

Say what you will, a tanker dropping fuel WILL stir up any amount of crud / water / what not in a tank regardless.

I have asked stations when was the last time they tested for water and people have looked at me with that deer in the headlight look. "Huh? we are supposed to test for water?" When I worked in a filling station during college we tested it every night when we stuck the tanks for readings. Smeared a paste on the tank sticks at the same time.
