Slow pay. Seems we always have to call for our money.

We have had good experience with them. Probably a dozen or more loads and DTP run about 30, as reported by my factoring company. Never had any issues with the loads or the brokers. What I will say is that all but one of those loads was through an agency, not their home office in ME. Most of the stuff I've called the ME office about was too cheap. In their defense it was only on a few loads in the NE area where rates are crummy to begin with.

there are 2 Sargent Trucking companies...one based in NY, and one based in ME.... Ive run dozens of loads for the one based out of ME. NEVER had a problem, and your factoring company is lying to you if they say 30 dtp. They pay 7 days from reciept of original paperwork, never once had issue with them.

My point in bringing that up is that the Sargent I've dealt with in ME isn't slow on pay.

I'm aware of the day counting issue with some factoring companies. A 30 day report from them usually means at least 20 on a bad day, accounting for processing time both sending and depositing payment, along with US Mail time. Regardless of how you handle the invoice, days to pay starts on the date of the invoice and ends when you deposit the check.

If their office turn-around on payment is 7 days, then what I'm seeing supports that.

OP: I kind of figured you were looking at a lease prospect and not contract loads. I really like doing business with their agency (in AR), and have nothing negative to say about the rare call to their home office. Maybe someone leased to them will come along and have more relevant experience to share.
